There they were.
Chris.
Chet.
Justin.
3 members of 3 Doors Down in the same room together for the first time in…well, awhile.
Their meeting place?
The historic RCA Studios on Music Row in Nashville.
Perfect, right?
They were there to be interviewed for an upcoming documentary featuring their bandmate, Chet Roberts.
We discussed Chet’s various roles in the band, tales from the road, something called the “Soundcheck Chicken,” Chet’s life and journey and much more
And of course, we discussed the band.
The highs.
The lows.
Brad.
The impact Brad had and continues to have on each of them.
We talked about what each guy is doing now and what they may or may not do together in the future.
We covered a lot of ground.
Nothing was off limits.
They answered every question.
Every one of them, including the BIG ONE, the one their fans are waiting to hear.
We’ll leave their answers for the documentary.
Let’s just put it this way.
Each interview carried a full spectrum of emotion, introspective moments, vivid memories, a deep, lingering sense of sorrow, a sense of hope, and somehow at times, belly-aching laughter.
As the interviewer, I was mesmerized.
Mentally exhausted.
Mentally fulfilled.
Incredibly thankful.
Each bandmate held nothing back.
They opened their hearts and let it flow.
Each interview was raw.
Real.
Unrehearsed.
From the heart.
They discussed it all, including their incredible pride in their “brothers” who are all entrepreneurs in their own rights off the big stage.
Chet is co-founder of Fourth Door Media Entertainment. (https://fourthdoormedia.com/)
Justin has an incredible jewelry line, Sacred West Silver; (https://www.sacredwestsilver.com/)
Chris has a booming business (https://mtrdefense.com/) that sells everything from guns & ammo to apparel. (In fact, Chris is the man behind all things being printed by his buddy Chet at Fourth Door Media.)
Greg Upchurch, who doesn’t live in Tennessee, was unable to make it for the in-person interview. He has, however, agreed to be interviewed for the documentary. He is beloved and was discussed by each 3 Doors Down band member we interviewed.
He too has a ridiculously cool business, Greg’s Rockin’ Goat Coffee (https://gregsrockingoat.myshopify.com/) in Oklahoma.
It’s clear that the very qualities that once fueled their success on the big stage are the same ones sustaining them now, shaping who they’ve become and guiding where they go next.
These dudes are relentless.
Focused.
And they 100% believe in themselves and root for each other.
It’s exactly what their fans hope would be the case.
Rest assured.
It is.
We interviewed Chris and Justin in the legendary Chet Atkins’ office, right next to the very desk where the likes of Elvis Presley, Dolly Parton, and others, signed big time deals.
We had the chance to interview Chet, thanks to the incredibly gracious Bobby Spivey, Michael Hamilton, and Eddie Gore at Label 22 (https://label22records.com), inside the very studio where legends like Roy Orbison, Eric Clapton, ZZ Top, Elvis, and so many others recorded some of their biggest hits.
The significance of that moment wasn’t lost on Chet, who shared that his dad was a huge Roy Orbison fan.
The episode we shot has many layers.
In fact, it may turn into two episodes, we’ll see.
Side note; We’ve already been contacted by multiple magazines for insights on what we captured that day.
We’re not ready to share just yet.
For the many Chet Roberts and 3 Doors Down fans in the world, buckle up.
These guys are as special as you thought they were.
And them some.
I can’t wait to share this with you.
It’s meaningful to each and everyone of us at Fourth Door Media and Entertainment.
We hope it will be for you too.

I cannot wait to see this and so excited to see Fourth Door succeed. Proud of you Chet and know that Brad is so proud of each of you for carrying on and honoring him and staying strong and faithful. God bless each of you
So great to see you 3 together. So looking forward to seeing this episode. I've been to many 3DD Concerts and actually Brad got us on stage at Mystic Lake Casino Show in Prior Lake MN in June 2023. We actually got to spend some time with him before the show. He started following my Instagram page with my crazy English Bulldogs back in 2015 or so. He poured his heart out to me when he & Jen lost Harley Butt in 2018 as he knew I would understand as my hubby and I never had kids either. I never in a million years thought August 2024 would be the last time I would see you guys. God must be putting together one heck of a rock band ! I wish 4 Door Media nothing but the best ! Chet, you are one funny guy ! Who knew ! You shitting your pants story had me literally crying ! Chris, Justin & Greg all have some great things going on too ! I'm sure Brad is smiling down on you all and his legacy will live on through you guys. God Bless you my friends ❤️🙏
